Shawnee Smith (born July 3 1970, 5 feet tall"3" is an American film and television actress as well as a musician. Smith is best known for playing Amanda Young in Saw and Linda in CBS the sitcom Becker. Smith has also performed with the metal band Fydolla Ho, with whom she was on tour in the United States and the United Kingdom and was a part of Smith & Pyle a desert country-rock band with actress Missi Pyle. Shawnee Smith, the second daughter of Patricia Smith an oncology nurses and Jim Smith former US Air Force pilot and financial planner was born in Orangeburg South Carolina. When she was one year old, her family relocated from South Carolina and California to Van Nuys. Her parents had divorced when she was two years old age. She was then eight. She was a student at Ranchito Avenue Primary School in Panorama City Los Angeles as well as Madison Jr. High, in North Hollywood. She graduated from North Hollywood High School, North Hollywood California in 1987. In the same year she also starred in her solo show What am I going to Do now? It also included a stay of a month at Just For Laughs.
